Foundations Science Authority

A compact first-contact path for a skeptical scientific reader. This page does not replace or paraphrase away the full sources; it routes the review in the order that carries scientific authority.

ROUTING SUMMARYNO INDEPENDENT SCIENTIFIC AUTHORITYPRINT FRIENDLY
Firewall. CCH does not require AC or CFH. A successful CCH result would not prove AC or CFH. A successful DCC, MDL×DCC, AI8, or reasoning-trace result would establish only its bounded engineering result. Phenomenality is not inferred from X(t), S*, behaviour, or language alone.

01 · Scientific foundations

Start with what is already known

  • Detection, mechanism, and phenomenality are separate tasks.
  • Complexity alone is not consciousness.
  • Hysteresis is not a controller signature.
  • Thalamocortical, brainstem, PK/PD, recurrent, distributed, and report-related accounts are serious competitors.
  • Claustrum evidence is mixed and supports candidate-modulator status only.
02 · CCH science

Then inspect the candidate mechanism

  • X(t), ΩCCH, and S* are candidates, not frozen results.
  • Five preregistered model classes compete under matched information and intervention budgets.
  • An endogenous controller requires a six-part conjunction, not merely successful closed-loop stimulation.
  • Stage 0 and Stage 1 must pass before any candidate intervention study.
  • Definitions moving after outcomes trigger the hard moving-target falsifier.
03 · Canonical authority

Finally check what every term may claim

  • AC and CFH are optional ontology and provenance, not scientific premises.
  • DCC and MDL×DCC have an independent engineering evidence lane.
  • AI8 is an engineering continuity and governance architecture.
  • The reasoning-trace arena is a preregistered engineering experiment with no result yet.
  • No result transfers proof between lanes.

What a result would — and would not — mean

Positive state-model result
Supports a frozen local neural representation under the declared conditions. It does not establish phenomenality or ontology.
Positive adaptive-control result
Establishes controllability only unless endogenous error coding, temporal precedence, mediation, selective disruption, rescue, and penalized superiority all survive.
Positive claustrum result
May support a pathway-specific controller component. It does not establish a seat, switch, necessary node, or complete controller.
Negative CCH result
Must count against the relevant hypothesis without moving X(t), ΩCCH, thresholds, or target regions after the result.
Engineering success
Supports the tested DCC/MDL×DCC/AI8 system only. It does not prove biological CCH, AC, CFH, or artificial phenomenality.

Reviewer questions worth answering

Gap: does the prospectively cross-condition-validated state-and-intervention gap genuinely remain?
Rival: can thalamocortical + brainstem + PK/PD + recurrent dynamics explain the same observations more simply?
Identification: are X(t) and ΩCCH frozen independently of the desired outcome?
Controller: is there signed error information and causal mediation beyond controllability?
Falsification: can a negative result kill H2 or H3 without redefining the target?
Ontology: does AC/CFH make any preregistered prediction that differs from the same no-AC/no-CF model?
