ArenaLoop is not being built to look autonomous. It is being built to face a controlled comparison.

External falsification challenge · The Bounded-Ridge Objection

An external cognition-theory objection argues that computational systems move through narrow viable abstraction ridges. Near the ridge they may be highly capable; once they drift away, errors can compound and accelerate. ArenaLoop does not assume this objection is false.

INNER tests progress within the current representation.
OUTER must demonstrate a new explicit, evidence-linked Representation Branch that outperforms matched INNER-only and simpler baselines on held-out representation-shift tasks.

If it cannot, AI8 remains sophisticated bounded automation, regardless of how complex or fluent the runtime appears.
