Top 100 Inventions — Existing Inventions That Changed the World

A ranked atlas of inventions and cultural technologies that changed civilization, followed by a small BD × AI appendix for future physical invention seeds.

Methodology note. The main Top 100 ranks existing inventions by civilizational impact, dependency depth, persistence, and system leverage. The BD × AI appendix is a separate physical seed lane: seed score is not proof, only a measure of novelty, first-test clarity, bridge potential and page readiness.

Score is not moral purity and not truth probability. Score is research/civilizational usefulness under this lens. Some inventions have severe harms and still transformed the world.

Methodology / MAL disclaimer

Two lanes: proven inventions and physical seeds

Existing inventions lane

This lane ranks inventions that already changed the world. The score blends impact, dependency, persistence, breadth and transformation. It does not mean the invention is morally pure.

Future physical seed lane

The appendix uses a different score: novelty, physical bridge potential, first-test clarity, proposal-page readiness and review usefulness. A seed score is not proof that the invention works.

Methodology / MAL note

MAL can be used as a multi-LLM critique loop for stress-testing the ranking, missing inventions, over-compressed entries and score assumptions. It is not a vote and not a substitute for evidence.

Rule: rank, don’t eliminate. Low-ranked seeds stay in the archive until better tests or representations clarify them.

BD × AI physical seed lane

Future Physical Invention Seeds — BD × AI

A compact appendix for physical / engineering seeds with links to actual concept pages where available. This appendix uses a separate seed score; it is not part of the existing-invention Top 100 ranking.

Different score, different claim

Seed score is not proof. It means novelty, physical first-test clarity, bridge potential, page readiness and usefulness for first test design.

Scope of this appendix

This appendix is limited to physical or engineering concepts. Broader software methods, papers, games, arenas and research protocols are mapped through the main BD × AI Lab portal.

Seed 0173

DGT / DGTE

Double-Gravity Thermo Engine

Heat-gradient capsule-loop concept using gravity/buoyancy strokes. The useful claim is not “it works”; the useful claim is that cheap bench gates can test the energy accounting, losses and cycle behavior.

HTH

Horizontal Trompe / Heat-to-Height physical branch

Low-cost hydraulic/air entrainment concept with transparent-channel test gates for pressure, airflow, separation, friction losses and usable work.

How this page should be challenged

Useful critique should look for missing inventions, over-compressed entries, score inflation toward recent digital systems, and weak framing in the future physical seed appendix. MAL can support that critique as a multi-LLM stress-test, while the final public page remains a curated editorial synthesis.
